Day 6: Rocky Mountains to the Desert

Today's trip was fairly short, since the goal was to make it from the Rocky Mountain National Park to Cortez, CO, near Mesa Verde National Park. Ordinarily we would've had an amazing view along the Million Dollar Highway, but after getting lost while going through the mountains and stopping the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, we ended up taking this rather curvy road at night. It's not something I'd like to repeat.

The black canyon was beautiful and it's definitely worth coming back again to explore some more. As it was, we had very little time to look around.
