Thoughts about Airports

Trouble at Atlanta International Airport

Scene at ATL

My flight to New York involved a connection at Atlanta, which just happened to coincide with both bad weather and the FAA computer problems. The computer problems forced the FAA to switch to manual control of the flights and led to huge backups. Here's a panoramic photograph (click on it for a bigger version) of the long line of planes waiting to take off. Unfortunately, my flight never got off the ground and instead I got on a different flight that left 6 hours later than mine was originally scheduled for.

Nicest Views from an Airport

View from Salt Lake City Airport

Granted, I haven't been to that many airports, but I'm sure Salt Lake is one of the nicer ones. The snowy Rocky mountains were on the other side of the plane (and the airport I believe) on my way to North Carolina, but here's a bit of the views from around there. Next time I hope to have at least a few minutes to run around the airport a bit more.
